The Mountain  Journal In feedback from the community, the Murang’a County Government has established a payment system that will reduce queues of patients and improve service delivery in health facilities. At Murang’a Level Five Hospital which was badly hit with long queues coupled with lack of drugs, Governor Irungu Kang’ata has moved to address the concerns through the creation of NHIF and payment desks across the departments making it easy for patients to pay for services with ease.

New health chief in town Eliud Maina Wanja.

Kang’ata said the new system will reduce patients making endless trips around the facilities when in need of help.“ The county government has introduced automated systems in all our hospitals for supply of goods and services,” said Kang’ata.   Three weeks ago, there was an outcry at the Murang’a Level Five Hospital after patients complained about the poor services and overstaying at the facility without being attended.Meanwhile, in efforts to improve service, Kang’ata has moved  Eliud Maina Wanja to the position of Chief Officer in public health and administration taking over from Dr. James Gitau. Gitau has been reshuffled to Infrastructure and Community Project that was headed by Mr Maina.www.themountainjournal.co.ke
