The is no mean achievement as the University faced off
serious competition from other competing Universities, among notable winners were
Strathmore University that come second with a total of 30 medals, the hosts University of Nairobi
came a distant third with 55 medals.
Mr. William Luta the University Sports and Creative Arts
Coordinator was very elated by the results.
“I am very proud of these young sportsmen, men and
women, this achievement has been solemnly gained through hard work in training, consistency,
team work, and most importantly by God’s grace.
We did the vetting and selected teams to
represent the University in September, after which we put up a very tight preparation and training
schedule including weekend road runs” said Luta.
Our strategy of picking a few teams to represent the
University in specific sports unlike our competitors that went all out to field teams in all sports
worked out in our favor.
As a University we are determined to ensure our students are
trained, facilitated and exposed in matters of talent.
Our national teams’ champions came from, netball ladies,
woodball men and women, athletics men and women, Tennis men and women, scrabble women,
badminton men and women, karate men and women, rugby men, volleyball men, taekwondo
men and women other teamsthat represented the University were soccer ladies,
basketball men and women, table tennis and darts.
We are proud to end the year on a high note.
