Three more Early
Childhood Education Centers have been built in Gatanga ward, to match with the increased enrollment.
The facilities are Thare,
Gathuthu and Umbui in Gatanga ward, Murang’a county to cater for the increased enrolment in the next year’s
intake.
Also constructed is a modern
kitchen at Umbui nursery school where the porridge for the young will be
prepared.
Launching the three
ECDE centres during his tour of the ward on Sunday, Murang’a Irungu Kang’ata
said Umbui facility will benefit with a water tank, which will store water for
the learners.
“The newly built ECDEs
have already registered an increase in the number of learners as the County
Government continues to encourage enrollment of learners into ECDE, in all
parts of the county,” said the governor.
Kang’ata
was accompanied by his Deputy Stephen Munania, CEC Education
Faith Njoroge, Deputy Speaker Moses Gachui,
and the host MCA John Kibaiya.
Present was Kariara MCA Jeremiah Gichobe among
others.
