Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata ally Dr
Newton Mwangi emerged the best out of the 72 individuals who applied for the
position of the county secretary.
The career educationist and now a part time
lecturer at MKU has been vetted by the county assembly where he detailed his capacity
to steer the county to great heights while supporting administration of
Kang’ata.
He was before the selection committee chaired
by County Assembly Speaker Johnson Mukuha, with members Kibe wa Sarry( Ithiru),
Moses Mirara( Kangari), Naomi Nyambura( Ruchu), Stephgen Muiga(
Kakuzi/Mitumbiri), Eliud Wairagu(Gitugi) among others.
“ If appointed to the positions I will work towards addressing the employees
in the devolved function concerns through ensuring there will be no delayed
salaries,” said Mwangi.
The nominee was in charge of Governor Kanga’ata
and UDA campaigns.
In his
teaching history, Mwangi has been at Maragua Ridge, Saba Saba and Pasenga secondary
schools in Murang’a and Nyandarua counties respectively.
