Mwaniki bows out of the senate race

Laikipia Deputy Governor John Mwaniki has stepped down contesting the senate position in favour of the former Mungiki sect leader Maina Njenga.
The announcement was made by Azimio Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga who said Mwaniki will be considered for a position if he wins the August 9 election.
“ We have agreed that Mwaniki will step down in favour of Maina Njenga,’ said Raila when he addressed a public rally in Nyahururu town, drumming up support for his Presidential candidature.
This happened after Gitonga Kabugi who was eying for Laikipia Gubernatorial position on Narc -Kenya stepped down in favour of the Governor Ndiritu Muriithi of Jubilee Party.
Maina will face the incumbent John Kinyua, Mwalimu Jackson Thangei, Henry Mbuthia Kimani, Stephen Chege , Julius Orumoi and Robert Maina Ndung’u.
