Cracks have emerged in Kenya Kwanza Coalition after two partners The Farmers Party and ANC have accused UDA allies over utterances likely to cause ripples.
In a press statement signed by Simon Gikuru and John Kahura of ANC and the Farmers Party termed the utterances made on May 3, by UDA allies in Murang’a county, as uncalled for as they insisted for a six piece suit.
Gikuru is the ANC Secretary General as well as Kahura issued the statement in Nairobi after their members from Murang’a County raised concerns.
In a press statement read the utterances were derogatory and shameful as it was against the spirit of Kenya Kwanza as demonstrated by the Principals.
“We hereby demand immediate public withdrawals of the remarks by the UDA party, and a clarification by Kenya Kwanza on the matters,” read part of the signed statement.
In the meeting, the UDA leaders led by Senator Irungu Kang’ata eying for Murang’a gubernatorial position alongside Irungu Nyakera of Farmers Party said they were looking for a 100 percent win in all positions through voting for the UDA aspirants.
Nyakera is a Principal in Kenya Kwanza team after they signed a coalition agreement with other interested partners campaigning for the deputy president William Ruto.
