The Murang’a
senatorial aspirants Prof Peter Kagwanja and former senator Kembi Gitura both in
Jubilee Party are yet to agree on who should step down.

In the board room meetings the two have
remained steadfast  to declare their interest
with none bricking his eye, in the powerful panel designed to negotiate on who
will face UDA’s Joe Nyutu on August 9.

Allies of Kembi have also indicated their candidate
is the best placed  to articulate Murang’a
county interests.

Njoroge
Wambui from Kandara says Kembi is best suited to handle Murang’a senatorial
slot due to his expertise and capacity.

“ The
former is the best placed  as in his
first year he gave the county a pride for pushing the executive to do more in
pertaining to the development,” said Njoroge.

Dr Samuel
Kamau, an ally of Kagwanja says Kembi lacks the capacity to drive Murang’a
agenda, based on his stay in the former state corporation.

Kamau said
an organization has moved to court to challenge the Jubilee Party on why it cleared
the former senator to run, while the same declined the application of Annie
Ngirita of Nakuru county.

“ Kagwanja the academia is the best
person to be bestowed with the responsibility
to play oversight in the county, as he has a lot to do to support the
young ones,” said Kamau.

The academia, he added, has lined up more schoclarship  for the Murang’a people  where majority are back in the country working.

” There are plans  for construction of water dams  for the interest of increasing productivity in our farms,” said Kamau.

Others in the senatorial race are Dr Pius
Kinuthia(ODM), Lucas Njoroge (Usawa Kwa Wote, and Stanley Karuri(Independent), Hellen
Kigia(Farmers Party)
