With
completion of UDA nominations, Laikipia voters are back on drawing board
verifying who is the best among the gubernatorial aspirants who are seeking for
the votes ahead of August 9, polls.
The leading light in the position are Mburu
Kamau and Joshua Irungu both with massive backing around the country following
their aggressive campaigns.
Mburu
Kamau switched off from Jubilee Party to the independent upon the entry of
Governor Ndiritu Muriithi from his PNU after he was promised he will be
declared the official gubernatorial candidate.
Mburu has
maintained he will floor Ndiritu and Irungu at the ballot having established
close links with the more than 200,000 voters across the county.
“ Am sure
I know Laikipia better having been with the people since 2013, as compared to the two who governed the county
miserably during their stay,” said Mburu.
Others in
the race are Gitonga Kabugi the former deputy governor to Irungu, Nanyuki town businessman
Mr John Wakaba.
In the UDA nomination,
Irungu last week floored Laikipia West MP Patrick Mariru.
