President Uhuru Kenyatta tore his Deputy William Ruto implicating him with graft and spreading falsehood.
Kenyatta speaking at Sagana State Lodge didn’t mince words and endorsed his political ally Raila Odinga describing the most suitable as compared to his deputy.
In a meeting attended by more than 10,000 people from 11 counties in Mt Kenya region he said he approached Odinga after the violence associated with the election erupted.
He disclosed in all the meetings with Odinga his deputy was aware only to claim later he was cornered after the handshake took place at the office of the president.
“Between 2018 to date the country has attained more development following the conducive atmosphere created by the good leadership,” said the head of state when he addressed the delegates from the counties.
He said Odinga was best suited for the post as his deputy can be considered later depending on the behavioural change as he accused him of the failure to implement a dam in Elgeyo Marakwet after the siphoning of billions of shillings that had been allocated.
Those present included Presidential Service Delivery Unit (PDU) Director Edward Wakahiu, Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya( Agriculture) and Mutahi Kagwe (Health), and the former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.
MPs present were Nduati Ngugi (Gatanga), Wangari Mwaniki(Kigumo), Muturi Kigano(Kangema), and their nominated colleague Maina Kamanda.
Kiambu Governors James Njoro, Francis Kimemia(Nyandarua), Ndiritu MuriithI( Laikipia). Laikipia Governorship aspirant Mburu Kamau led a pack of aspirants eying positions of Jubilee Party.
Earlier the security team manning the gates was overwhelmed by the large turn of people interested in the meeting, which had been reserved for 5,000.
The neighbours from as far as Chaka market travelled to the state lodge and sought permission to get in the meeting, which they were allowed.
