Entry  youth Betty Maina in the Murang’a Woman Representative race  has thrown  the aspirants off guard following her  connection  with the ground.

 Maina  who has been playing active politics since 2013  has been a close ally to all the members of parliament in Murang’a  and  majority of the national leaders  owing to her  connection politically and socially.

She has worked with Former Presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth, former Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau, Women Representative Sabina Chege and has been serving in Jubilee government.

She declared to run for the seat on Sunday  and sent shivers  to the aspirants  for the slot, as those eying for governor, senate and MCAs  looking  for partnership  as she is expected to mount a heavy campaign  eying to emerge the best.

 Speaking to The Mountain Journal, Ms Maina  a director at Athi Water Works Development Agency said  she had been approached by hundreds of people  to represent them   and spearhead their social and political agenda.

” I have a strong team on the ground interacting with the community,” said the director.

“Congratulations to my friend and big sister Betty N Maina for this bold decision.

I must say it was long overdue. Muranga twende kazi sasa!#bettyesawa’ chiru was Chief told Ms Maina in her face book account.

She said her interest is women and youth empowerment as she has been fighting  for equal representation at all levels.

“I will cast my vote at exactly 8.39am.

My nuclear and extended family will cast their votes immediately thereafter for Betty N Maina in support for empowerment of all the women of Murang’a County,” Njoroge wa Kung’u told Maina.

 Tony Mgenge told her “A strong woman knows she has strength enough for the journey, but a woman of strength knows it is in the journey where she will become strong. Betty N Maina,”
