By The Mountain Journal
The leaders from The Mountain are reading from the different
scripts days after the installation of Speaker Justin Muturi, the Gema spokesman.
Those from the east of the mountain are in support of the
coronation, while the brigade from the western side is opposed.

The opponents of the
installation led by Governor Mwangi wa Iria (Murang’a), Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru),
Nderitu Muriithi (Laikipia) and Mumbi Waiguru( Kirinyaga) said Muturi was not
fit to take over the position as he was not an elected leader.
The elders are also a divided
majority supporting the eastern leaders citing there was no consultation before
the ceremony was held.
On Saturday last
week, Muturi was accompanied by elders from the eastern side of the mountain
from Meru, Tharaka, Embu and Mbeere communities.
The leaders who included former Kiambu Governor William
Kabogo and former Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau said they were not comfortable with
the installation of Muturi.
Iria accused a section of elders behind the coronation of
Muturi saying the venue at Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga Shrine betrayed them.
“The
shrine is a sacred place and the event exposed the ill intention of the group
behind the installation of the speaker
the community spokesman,” said Iria.
Mzee
Kung’u wa Muigai from Kiambu has been castigated by the politicians and elders for using uncouth language against
the governor.
