in the residents.

the payroll of a brewer which is under police surveillance is blamed for targeting a local administrator after he
conducted a raid in one of the illicit brews den.

County Commissioner Mohammed Barre said the security committee will deal with
the criminal elements.
“ What you are seeing around is the effect left
behind by police raid in the dens,” said Barre when he addressed the press.
On Wednesday night, police stationed at
Maragua Police Station were thrown into a shock after they found new faces led
by Murang’a South OCDP conducting patrols in the town.
The move to deploy a squad from other parts
of Murang’a followed the claim by the residents that they have lost confidence
in their local police, as some were leaking information to the criminals.
Barre the
county security committee has a strategy to restore security in Maragua and the
neighbouring areas.
“ Let me give the public an assurance that
Maragua town is safe and the police will
provide the security,” said Barre.

Maragua was among the developing urban centres in the county, with no report of
tenants leaving due to insecurity.
A week
ago, the locals said the local police have compromised the security by leaking
