A team
has been formed to spear head Building Bridges Initiative ‘talk’ in Central
Kenya following claims to fierce opposition.

The appointment of the five members charged
with responsibility to ‘sell’ the document in the region follows disclosure
that out of the 90 parliamentarians only 15 were against it.

 MP Wangari Mwaniki

The team led by Kirinyaga Senator
Charles Kibiru will include activities to sell BBI at the grassroots, after
Senate Majority Whip Irungu Kang’ata wrote to President Uhuru Kenyatta
outlining the reasons that will lead  to
its rejection.

The
team

co-chaired by Kibiru and National Assembly Deputy Chief Whip Maoka Maore
was appointed during a high powered meeting held at Thika Greens Resort in
Gatanga, Murang’a.

Others are Embu Woman Representative Jane
Wanjuki as Secretary, Limuru MP Peter Mwathi the Organising Secretary and
Wangari Mwaniki (Kigumo) as his assistant.

Appointment
of Mwaniki in the   powerful group  will stop
the emerging opposition of the report in parts of Murang’a which has been
accelerated  in parts of the county.

Mwaniki, a lawyer by profession has been the
key supporter of the BBI backed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and  former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

 The report has met stiff
opposition in the region led by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Alice Wahome( Kandara), Wangui Ngirichi(Kirinyaga),Moses Kuria( Gatundu South) Kimani Ichungw’a( Kikuyu)  among others owing to their affiliation with
Deputy President William Ruto.
