Nyandarua Institute of Science and
Technology has been elevated to a national polytechnic.

In a gazette notice signed by
education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha the institute now becomes the twelfth

 The institutional will be
offering diplomas and certificates in various areas of training.

 Early this year, the leaders
petitioned the government to upgrade  the institution to national status,
after its facilities, were inspected by a team led by Education CS.

 The leaders led by Governor
Francis Kimemia, Water Cabinet Secretary Ms Sicily Kariuki and Ol Jororok MP
Michael Muchira petitioned  Education Ministry to upgrade the facility.

  Magoha
said the institution had met the standards of a national polytechnic.

On her
part, CS Kariuki said her ministry was also set to sink and equip a borehole at
the learning institutions to boost its water supply and properly service the
entire population.

 Speaking
to The Mountain  Journal, the Principal Mr Felix Mung’atu, the new
polytechnic will offer
 a wide range of quality
market-driven courses in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Liberal
