Only hours left for Gaturi to make a verdict

 

Political parties are winding up
campaigns for Gaturi ward seat by-election.

 In the
past three days, known figures have pitched camp in the ward campaigning for
the replacement of the late Cryus Kiiru Mwangi aKa Mbembe.

 Jubilee
Party campaign is led on two fronts one by Governor Mwangi wa Iria and other by
senator Irungu Kang’ata.

Wakuthie is on board as the senator on the other hand is addressing the gatherings pleading with them  to support the
jubilee candidate.

 On the other hand, Gatundu South MP Moses
Kuria has been on the ground campaigning for Esther Mwihaki Kamau of People’s
Economic Party that he leads.

said it would be wise to pass the leadership baton to the young.

“I
was elected in Gatundu South due to my age, and also determined to ensure the
youth get into leadership positions. The party is campaigning for Mwihaki who
has demonstrated to have leadership skills,” said Kuria.

 In matters pertaining to health,  IEBC 
and public health will ensure the polling centres are fumigated to stop
the spread of Covid 19.

 The seat has attracted nine candidates backed
by political parties.

Others in the race are Muchoki Mbuthia( Maendeleo Chap Chap, Chris Kimuhu( National Ordinary People’s Empowerment Party) Zablon Mwangi ( Narc Kenya), Jacob Murira( The Young Democratic Party), Simon Njogu (United Green Movement) and Nelson Kenda (Democratic Party).

Twenty-year-old Kelvin Maina of University of Nairobi of Party of Economic Democracy.
