Raila visits Murang’a and recounts efforts made by late MP Kariuki wa Njirri

 ODM leader Raila Odinga supervised collection of signatures in Murang’a as he  criticized those against the initiative  to unite Kenyans.

 Kenyans he said were on a mission to live peaceful  with others without leaders inciting them for their selfish interests.

 Raila speaking in Kangari, Murang’a county, said the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is designed to ensure there are equal opportunities to all.

 The report, he said has been blessed by millions of Kenyans. while suspected thieves of public funds, were hiding in churches while they ferry millions of shillings in sacks.

” They  are people who fly around in helicopters, loaded  with money which its origin can not be explained,” he said.

In the past Raila has alleged the Deputy President William Ruto was driven by malice, without considering interest of Kenyans.

He drummed support for BBI  that will increase allocation of resources  to the counties  from 15 percent to 35 percent for the increased development activities at the grass roots.

 He said the reforms proposed in the BBI report will assist  to bring Kenyans togethers and foster development.

” The education for our children will be free to all from nursery school to university , and ensure equal job opportunities to improve their living standards,” said Raila who was accompanied by Kigumo MP Wangari Mwaniki.

 He said development projects facilitated by the national government in Murang’a included Mau Mau roads that will connect four counties in Central Kenya, that will  be linked in Rift Valley.

 At  the same time, Raila lauded the former Kigumo MP  the late Kariuki  Njiiri  for his gestures to step aside  for the late President Mzee  Jomo Kenyatta.

 He said the late Kariuki, a son of the paramount Chief Karanja wa Njiiri  of Kinyona, stepped down from his Legco seat  to pave way for Kenyatta  to proceed to the parliament.

Kenyatta in the Legco  he teamed up with the late Jaramogi Odinga, Masinde Muliro, Jeremiah Nyaga among others and took  part in  drafting the Lancaster constitution.

 During the function,  Mwaniki  said the   residents appreciated the government initiated development projects, as once completed will transform their lives.

” The  residents in Kangari are eager for when  construction of the modern market  will start after the design was approved by experts,” she said.
