Governors push for a pension kitty

The governors have proposed for the creation
of a pension fund without consideration of terms.

The 47 governors are pushing for the creation of a
pension kitty for themselves alongside their deputies.

Others considered in the proposal are
county assembly speakers, members of county assemblies and senior officials in
the county governments.

In a statement by the council of governors chairman  Wycliffe Oparanya   the proposal  will put the governors as is
the case with the President, his Deputy and
members of parliament and state officers
at the national government.

The council proposed the removal of
collective criminal responsibility in the management of resources at the county
government level, to align with the principle of personal criminal culpability.

The governors have also called to be
involved in security matters at both national and county level in the national
security advisory council and implement the county policing authority.

On deputy governors, they proposed they remain as running
mates to the governors, and should be of either gender.
