Laikipia and Nyeri county governments have entered into a pact
to foster cooperation and coordinate services at the border markets.
On Sunday, Governors Ndiritu Muriithi (Laikipia) and Mutahi
Kahiga ( Nyeri) signed a memorandum of understanding that will enable towns
near the border of their counties access crucial services.
This agreement will ensure that there is coordinated service
delivery to citizens especially in the shared areas like Nanyuki, Naromoru,
Castle, Ichuga, Ngobit among others get
services from service providers.
the services are fire brigade, garbage
collection, water etc.
This
comes when residents in some areas in Nyeri county are wishing if their areas
could be declared polling centres for
Laikipia county for garbage collection and access to piped water.
