Former Gaturi MCA Rosemary Wakuthii is the Jubilee Party candidate for Gaturi ward in Kiharu, Murang’a.
The party nomination was contested by Esther Mwihaki who came second and polled 1,257 vote. winner garnered 1,720 votes.
In the third position was Joshua Mwangi 1,041 votes and Samuel Mwai polled on five votes. The seat fell vacant after death of Cyrus Kiiru Mwangi Aka Mbembe a month ago.
The fight was a contest between Senator Irungu Kang’ata and Water and Irrigation Principal Secretary Joseph Wairagu who who supported candidates in the contest.
The nomination process in Kiharu faced low turn out and some polling centres opening late.

On December 15 polls to be conducted by IEBC Wakuthii will face Muchoki of Maendeloe Chap Chap and Nelson Kenda of Democratic Party.
