LAIKIPIA: Rumuruti the place to invest

Rumuruti town on a path to modernization with Broad Boarders leading the way

Over the decades Rumuruti town had been considered dull,  but the situation has changed after Laikipia County Government realized the existing opportunities.

With coming of the infrastructure to accommodate the county
headquarters hundreds of investors are trooping to the town to explore business
opportunities that will be exploited.

Real Estate player Broad Boarder has led the way into the
town and the surrounding to assist the investors to get land for establishing
their businesses.

 Broad Boarder
Cooperative Society Chairman Mr Jeremiah Karemeri said Rumuruti is a fertile
ground where investors can grow and realize their potential.

 Mr Karemeri

“This one of the areas where people can set up
industries  and residential houses for
tenants who will be part of the growing economy of this part of Laikipia county,” said Karemeri.

  Karemeri said the
cooperative has assisted the young people to grow through investment in
housing and land. Governor Ndiritu Mureithi after he was elected in office
moved to construct the offices, paving way for the investors to follow his
administration.

Plans to relocate the county government headquarters in 2016
met strong opposition by Nanyuki traders who claimed they have spent millions
of shillings for investment in the town.

Rumuruti is one of the industrial towns in Laikipia county,
alongside Naibor, Nanyuki, Nanyuki and 10 other markets that have been brought
up through Smart Towns Initiatives.

The town is managed by a municipal board after
the county assembly approved its elevation to the status.
