Succession
politics is rife in Central Kenya with locals converging in various points
looking for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor.
The list of potential successors is endless
with visible ones being former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth, Governor
Mwangi wa Iria, TSP leader Mwangi Kiunjuri and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary
Peter Munya.
The leaders have been doing meetings with the
locals to popularise their candidature ahead of 2022 general election when President
Kenyatta will exit from office.
Last week, Kenneth the former Gatanga MP met
Kikuyu elder near Chaka market, Nyeri county where community issues were
deliberated and how best they can be resolved.
Leaders who accompanied Kenneth included
Democratic Party National Chairman Esau Kioni.
While in Murang’a, Jubilee Party Vice Chairman
David Murathe said Kenyatta will remain the community spokesperson as he was prophesied
by the late Cabinet Minister John Michuki.
As the political scenario proceeds towards
Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) the
leaders have retreated to their backyards solidifying their support towards the succession
battle.
Kenneth has been in Murang’a, Nyeri,
Laikipia where he has been endorsed by the local leaders.

up to support for The Civic Renewal Party (CRP).
