Residents of Mathioya got a health
education on how best protect themselves from Covid 19, after their own Edwin
Mugo toured various villages.
Mugo a community leader who jetted back to the
country from overseas, warned the residents against flouting the protocols
issued by the government to stop the spread of the disease.
He told the people of the dangers ahead should
they flout the regulations, as it has happened in many countries that are
recording high numbers of deaths.
“It is the responsibility of all the residents
to observe personal hygiene to stop the spread of the disease,” he said as he
distributed thousands of face masks to the locals.
He appreciated efforts made by the
government to help the residents at the counties to remain safe.
“Kenya is among the countries in the
world that have made tremendous efforts to protect its people from the
disease,” he said.
In the past three months, leaders in
Murang’a led by Governor Mwangi wa Iria have been involved in distribution of
face masks, sanitisers among other items to help in taming the spread of the
disease.
