Embu: Health workers demand for Covid allowances

Healthcare workers in Embu have  staged a protest  seeking redress of their grievances by Embu County Government.

The  workers proceeded to county health offices blaming their  employer to address their grievances.

Through Kenya Union of Nurses (KNUN), Embu Branch General Secretary  Joseph Ngwasi said they are agitated by how covid 19 allowance were allocated.

Ngwasi said only some emoloyees have received  allowances while a large number has been out.

“Healthcare workers are concerned over delayed promotions and failure to allocate Covid allowance to all, “he said. 

Grace Miriithi, Chief Officer in charge of health promised their grievances will be looked at.

She said they cannot sit down and see them suffering and therefore they should give them time to conclude the discussion.

Jerevasio Mbogo, Chief Officer in charge of public health promised they will have amicable agreement on the matter.
