Iria’s new system to reach voters

 By TMJ Team in Murang’a

Operations of Murang’a County
Government will not be sabotaged by rebel MCAs, as Governor Mwangi wa Iria has
appointed right hands  to accomplish his
service delivery mission.

In Gitugi and Kakuzi Mitumbiri
wards in Mathioya and Gatanga constituencies respectively , the governor has appointed his close allies  to represent him.

In the disbursement of this year scholarship cheques
to 2,000 secondary school learners,  Iria
named  , MCAs   Pelagia Muthoni Maina aka Muisrael and  Jeremiah Kongo of Kakuzi/Mitumbiri and Kanyenya
ini respectively as the rebels  working
for his downfall. In areas the MCAs work against him , the governor has
appointed his loyalists to represent the county government interests.

In Gitugi ward,  where the governor broke ranks with MCA
Mwangi Kihurunjo, he appointed Samuel Mwangi Kifeti as the ward administrator,
and who has been acting  in the past two
years.

In Gaturi ward,  the Governor worked  with the former MCA Rosemary Wakuthii Njine
after he broke ranks with the late Cryus Kiiru Mwangi who passed in September
last year.

In the bursary allocation,  Iria handed over the cheques to the Gaturi
ward MCA elect Esther Mwihaki Kamau who promised to support Murang’a County
Government activities.

Muisrael broke ranks with the governor after
she questioned why the county government allocated Sh26 million for the bursary
kitty when the  county assembly members
had not received their salaries since September last year.

Kongo, he explained, was planning to
mobilise the MCAs to impeach him
following instruction by individuals to sabotage his ascending  to Presidency after his second term comes to
an end.

“I will not entertain nonsense as I am
ready to work for the Murang’a people  until
my term comes to an end. The night meetings funded by those people only
interested in positions will not scare me as the majority of the MCAs are
interested in service delivery,” said the governor.

The Mountain Journal learnt that  the MCAs are plotting  to  impeach  senior county finance  official
for allegedly frustrating remittance of their  their salaries and allowances.

Several planning meetings have taken place  awaiting their resume business after the end
of the December holiday.
