It will be a crime in Murang’a to walk around without face marks.
Governor Mwangi wa Iria has issued the warning in efforts to stop the
spread of Covid 19, presently in the third wave.
The governor said his
administration will submit a bill to the county assembly for approval proposing
a hefty fine to the defaulters.
He issued the warning when
health facilities country wide are reportedly being full following the rise of
the infection.
“ I will not allow somebody in public without a face mask, those who
will default the law will face the music,” said the Governor.
Last year, the governor instituted
measures to tame the disease, through the distribution of more than 350,000
face masks and saniters.
Murang’a emerged the first
county to build and equip its Intensive Care Unit in a record of 21 days.
