Politicians eying for presidency have concentrated with the mountain holding their strategic meetings, with the latest being the deputy president William Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.
Ruto camped in Laikipia and Isiolo counties, while Musalia was in Murang’a taking part in a party activity to welcome the newly appointed Secretary General Simon Gikuru.

In Musalia’s camp, the 34 year old Gikuru was celebrated as the key leader in the ANC team and who will play a major role in uniting the Mountain in support of their presidential candidate.

At the stop overs in Nyahururu, Naibor and Nanyuki, the DP took a swipe at his arch rival Raila Odinga of ODM claiming he was being misused by the Mt Kenya Foundation, instead of going to meet the voters.
Ruto said the mountain was his strong hold as he labeled others as newcomers in the area.
In Murang’a, the ANC leader said he is relying on Mt Kenya youth to fund his 2022 presidential contest warning them to be wary of empty promises from other contenders.
“ Am investing in youth in the mountain region after realizing they have been used and dumped by other leaders in their quest for leadership platforms,” he said when escorted by party deputy leader and Lugari MP Ayub Savula among other MPs.
