Kihumbu ini MCA Francis Githuka
has pulled the first bullet through provision of the free wifi to his
electorate.
The former high school teacher emerged the first
member of the county assembly in the country
to provision the young and who are the majority a working tool.
The free wifi which was launched on Friday
covers a radius of 300 metres and plans
to introduce the same to major shopping centres of Mukarara and
Kiunyu in Kihumbu ini ward in Gatanga sub county.
Launching the programme, he said, he learnt the need to support the youth whose
majority are depending on the internet for
earning and studying.
“ The free wifi is a promise I
made to the youth after they recounted how they were suffering in research and applying for positions in private companies and public service due to lack of resources,” said Githuka.
Kihumbu ini wifi, can accommodate
300 users, said Githuka.
The sub county of Gatanga has wards namely Kihumbu ini, Kakuzi/ Mitumbiri,
Ithanga, Kariara, Gatanga, and Mugumo ini.
