At least 50 candidates have been attracted  to the position of KTDA Group CEO, which was left by Wilson Muthaura who proceeded  to retirement last week, the agency leadership has said.

The KTDA Holding Board on Monday divulged that five of the candidates are its internal employees serving in various positions and affirmed that Eng Francis Miano was holding the position in acting capacity.

Over the weekend a section of leaders from Meru and West of the rift raised eye blows demanding their own be appointed to replace Muthaura.

The KTDA Chairman Chege Kirundi emphasised that the recruitment of the CEO will be competitively driven and free from bias, with selection based on demonstrable competence, sector experience and leadership capacity.  Kirundi said to ensure continuity of leadership, Eng Miano would steer the organization through the transition period.

“The Board notes that the immediate successor who would otherwise have acted, Mr. Simon Rugut, was on approved leave at the time the need for interim appointment arose, and the board accordingly moved to secure experienced leadership without delay,” read the statement.

Muthaura  will get an appropriate send off package after serving for five and a half years in the organisation .
