Jubilee Party has kicked off a series of campaigns in Mt Kenya targeting areas that Deputy President William Ruto had penetrated.
Areas targeted by the Jubilee Party brigade are the counties Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Kiambu and Nyeri in efforts to stop the influence made by the Deputy President in the past three years. The Mountain has more than nine million votes, which has kept Ruto and Odinga busy eying them owing to their determination to the State House.

A powerful group of politicians led by the former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth camped in three constituencies in Murang’a who dilute the popularity of Ruto’s handlers Alice Wahome( Kandara), Mary Wamaua( Maragua) and Ndindi Nyoro( Kiharu). Wamaua crossed to the UDA a month ago when Ruto had a political rally at Kimorori grounds.
In the meeting with the grassroot mobilisers, Kenneth said there was need for the party wave to be felt across the Mountain as it has been the wish of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“The Jubilee Party is a party under the Azimio la Umoja thus the need for the leaders from the region must be members to ensure the region in return will benefit,” said Kenneth who is proposed to a running mate to Raila Odinga, the Azimio la Umoja leader.
The MPs who accompanied Kenneth in the meetings were Ngugi Nduati( Gatanga) and Peter Kimari( Mathioya) and former Murang’a senator Kembi Gitura.
