Two administrators in Kiharu are implicated in attacking  two helpless bar attendants.

On  Saturday morning, there was an outcry as the attendants of Oceanic Bar reported after they were physically assaulted by administrators known to them.

The two administrators attached at Murang’a East DCC office are implicated to roughed up Kelvin Mungai, a supervisor  and Natasha Wanjiru, a cashier leaving them with injuries .

Wanjiru recounted the beating they  underwent, terming it disrespectful, adding that the two  walked in the facility at 5 am as customers before one  demanded keys to the counter that she resisted to give.

“ A lady who identified herself as an assistant county commissioner, demanded I open the counter,  and told her that I had given the keys to my supervisor and the beatings continued,” said Wanjiru.

Mungai on his part said as chaos reigned the bar, he was called and upon reaching the bar he was clobbered by Muthoka and forced to sit on the floor.

He said he was roughed severely but instead of being taken for treatment at Murang’a Level Five Hospital, he was bundled into a police vehicle that took him to  the police station.

“ It is unfortunate that the two instead of doing their job reign in chaos on harmless citizens. I demand for justice after the chaotic incident,” said Mungai.

Moses Mugambi who witnessed the incident recounts how those who recorded the incident on their  mobile phones faced it rough after the phones were confiscated and videos deleted.

“ It was a calculated move that all the videos captured  were deleted but they forgot that the bar had CCTV cameras’ all over,” said Mugambi.

But Bar proprietor, James Waweru accused the administrators for attacking his employees  instead of facing him.

Waweru said the bar owners have been facing it rough after police officers and civilians, some drunk, have been conducting raids.

“ As the patron to Murang’a Bar and Hotel Owners Association, Muthoni has been holding a grudge with me, after I notified the county commissioner of the need for gazetted officers to conduct raids in the bars,” said Waweru.

A newly posted administrator  said the matter will be investigated.

“ We are reviewing the CCTV’s as part of the investigations and assure the public that no stones will be left unturned,” said the administrator.
