It was pomp and dance in Kiharu constituency after the Kiharu Masomo Bora programme was rolled out.
In the Sh70 Million programme facilitated by NG CDF targets 14,000 students is designed to revamp secondary school education, MP Ndindi Nyoro said the learners will be paying Sh1,000 per term down from Sh 6,500 charged.
The parents and leaders who converged at Mugoiri secondary school described the programme as eye openers as many have been unable to pay the required fees for their children
There are 58 day secondary schools in Murang’a East and Kahuro sub counties.
Launching the programme, Ndindi said there will be rehabilitation of the secondary school education to ensure they match with the private facilities.
In my first term I renovated the primary schools where the class rooms have been tiled and roads done.
“ In the second term I am interested in improving the primary schools compounds further with more concentration in the revamping of secondary schools,” said the Kiharu MP.
Present were Senators Samson Chelegai Nandui and Joe Nyutu( Murang’a), MPs Didmus Baraza( Kimilili), Jane Njeri( Kirinyaga) John Kaguchia( (Mukurwe ini), Githua wamachukuru( Kabete), and Jane Kagiri (Laikipia).
Others were Muchangi Karemba( Embu) and Gitonga Mukundi( Manyatta).
They lauded Kiharu MP over the crafting of the education programme, saying it will positively impact the lives of the learners in the future.
