Hell broke loose in Maundu ni Meri village in Laikipia
after a senior police officer at Rumuruti police station was stabbed to death
by a peddler delivering 20 liters of chang’aa.

 The deputy Officer
Commanding    Inspector Propser Wandera was stabbed
severally with a knife in the chest.

 He had gone to
arrest the supplier of the illicit brew at a den owned by notorious brewer Ms   Jackline Leperle,  15 kilometers away from the police station.

 The policeman
had used a boda boda to access Maundu ni Meri village.

The eyewitness divulged that after the incident the
assailant fled using a motorcycle.

“ It is shocking that a dedicated policeman’s life was
cut short by a merchant dealing with illicit brews. The police should swing in
action to deal with the menace,” said a
resident Maina Njogu.
