Western Bulls eager to make mark in the KRU Ingo 7s

Western Bulls Rugby Club have high expectations as they head into the second round of the National Sevens Circuit, the KRU Ingo 7s set for  August  at the ASK Kakamega Showgrounds.

‘Echulusi’ are they are commonly known are aiming to solidify their presence and make a significant impact in the tournament despite having a relatively young squad with only four seasoned players featuring.

The Kakamega-based outfit is in Pool A alongside their neighbours and arch-rivals Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology-MMUST RFC, hosts Kabras RFC and Kenya University’s Blak Blad RFC in what is termed as the ‘pool of death’.

Speaking to Citizen Digital after naming the squad, team manager Erastus Wanyama expressed his confidence in his squad’s ability to do well.

“We have been working tirelessly to refine our strategies and build cohesion within the team. The players are highly motivated and eager to put up a strong performance,” Wanyama stated.

He further highlighted the importance of the tournament for the team’s growth and exposure.

“The KRU Ingo 7s is a crucial platform for us. It will give our players a chance to compete at a high level and gain invaluable experience,” Wanyama added.

Bulls missed the opening round of the national sevens circuit, Christie 7s, which was won by Kabras.
