Equity Bank Foundation has lauded efforts made by
Murang’a County Government in the transformation of the health sector.
The Bank CEO Dr James Mwangi said the county
government has done a lot towards improving the health care sector, for the
benefit of the locals.
He spoke at Murang’a Level Five Hospital in company of
Governor Mwangi wa Iria during presentation of Personal Protection
Equipment (PPE) for use by the health workers when handing Covid 19 patients.
“Murang’a constructed a 35 beds Intensive Care Unit (ICU),
which is the second largest in the country after Kenyatta National Hospital,”
said Mwangi.
He said the governor has worked on improvement of the
health care system, a move that should be emulated by other counties.
“Should need arise the ICU centre can accommodate
additional equipment as it was designed for 50 ICU beds, and same number of
ventilators,” he said.
