Eyes
are training on the senate when it will resume deliberation on the third generation
revenue sharing formula.
Majority
Chief Whip Irungu Kang’ata said he was marshalled support from the majority of the
senators to endorse the proposal that was rejected on Tuesday.
Speaking
at Gaitheri ACK IN Murang’a during burial of Mrs Wairimu Kihoro grandmother to
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Kang’ata said jubilee senators who failed to support
the proposal have been put on notice for going against the party.
“
In my first attempt I managed to bring the senators from Tanga Tanga and Kielewe
wings of the Jubilee party to agree to support the government backed proposal,”
said the senator.
In the service, MPs Ndindi, Rigathe Gachagua and Moses Kuria
said the pact between President Uhuru
Kenyatta and Raila Odinga has not been genuine.
Kuria said Raila is responsible behind the
mess in the jubilee party.
“All
along Raila has not been sincere, his senators went contrary to the promise made to help Mt Kenya get
more money through the proposal,” said Kuria.
Gachagua questioned why Jubilee had managed to
get support to oust Senators Kipchumba Murkomen, Susan Kihika and Kithure Kindiki from
leadership positions.
“ The ODM betrayed the
course as its senators went against Mt
Kenya region, that they had lied to be friends through the pact between
Kenyatta and Raila,” said Gachagua.
