A family living in agony for hosting a ‘relative’

 

A
family in Nganga ini village, Kangema, Murang’a is waiting for an auctioneer to
evict them from an ancestral land measuring 12 acres.

 The family of the late Julius Wachira with 10 members
lost control of their land with more than 8,500 tea bushes  to their grandmother Lucy Watiri Muburi
following a suit.

 Now the family blame their predicament of their
lawyer for having failed to file a notice for appeal of the Judgment by
Environment and Lands Court Judge Grace Kemei of 2018.

They
have been battling of the control of land registered Loc9/Kanyenya-ini/574
worth Sh50 million, that the late Wachira accommodated  Watiri’s husband the late Mathew Muburi Muya

 After the death of Maleine Wairimu
Wachira,  who had been registered administrator’s
of Wachira’s property, Watiri moved to court to 
claim  the ownership of the suit
land.

Wairimu’s
children Njoroge F.A and Aloise Mwangi had applied to obtain a grant of
administration before Watiri lodged an opposition in court.

 Following the land case, Wachira family has
been restrained  from plucking green leaf
from their land, as Watiri has full control.

 The family has written to the President of
Court of Appeal  seeking  be allowed to contest the judgment
citing  there was an agreement between
their father Julius Wachira  and Mathew
Muburi that he was to buy an acre of land at Sh30,000. 

 The tea plantation Wachira’s family has been restrained  from going near

Sh3,000.

The
villagers have described Watiri as a squatter 
for intruding into the property belonging to the late Wachira and his
grandchildren.
