Wakili
Mbiyu Kamau has called on Murang’a residents to be assisting others instead of
focusing on their negativity.

Speaking
at Gathangari African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) in
Kandara constituency, Mbiyu said there was a need for the residents to embrace
advice from the church leaders, who are elderly and experienced in counseling.

The
church, he said assisted many of the people to reshape their life through
prayers after living in a blind past.

Mbiyu
who is Murang’a County Government Attorney said the policies being initiated by
Governor Mwangi wa Iria directed the implementation of the policy with utmost
urgency.

“A
policy designed to uplift the hawkers and small scale traders thrive in
business awaits implementation by the relevant departments. The policy was
passed by Murang’a County Assembly, and assented by the Governor,” said the
lawyer.

 Murang’a
Governor, he said, is behind the Hawkers Bill that excited the small scale
traders in the country after it was formulated.

“The
Governor whose interest is to help the scale traders succeed in their business,
issued directive that the policy should be operationilised with utmost
urgency,” said Mbiyu.

Other
counties are following suit to emulate the efforts of Governor Iria to formulate the policy.

Through advice by the Governor thousands of small-scale traders are registered members of Wachuuzi Sacco.

 He
hinted he was interested to vie Kandara parliamentary seat in 2022 to assist
the locals in the implementation of development projects.

In 2002,
he had declared to run for the parliamentary race before he was asked by
the then late President Daniel Arap Moi to step down to support a Kanu
candidate Stephen Karau.

“I had
to step down as I have a lot of respect to the elders,  and now
am  working  to be the next Kandara MP God willing,” said Mbiyu.

On Covid
19 protocols, he called on the locals to adhere to the directives issued by the
Ministry of Health to stop the spread of the disease.

“The
measures to stop the spread of the disease are frequent hand washing,
sanitizing and wearing of face masks,” said Mbiyu.

 The
lawyer donated face masks to the congregation and those in the nearby shopping
centres.
