Police in Meru intercepted bhang in a Nairobi–Meru bound matatu believed to be a property of two teenagers.
During a tip, the police intercepted the bhang estimated at Sh750,000 the two suspects were arrested for the interrogations.
The traffic officers, acting on a tip-off in the inspection, discovered the bhang was concealed in luggage carried by the minors.
The narcotic concealed in a travel bag was found on transit in the Public Service Vehicle operated by Maua Shark Company Limited and seized bhang with an estimated street value of Sh750,000.
The local County Commissioner Mr Jacob Ouma lauded the police over the move, designed to fight the concern over the increased influx of drugs.
The contrand, he said, is believed to have been from a neighbouring country desined to Nairobi.
“ The days are numbered for those dealing with narcotics as the security teams have strengthened surveillance,” said Ouma.
