Coffee market fetch Sh847 million less than last weeks’ earning

The weekly coffee market netted  Sh 847 million million after the auction  of 12,762 bags of coffee.

A report from the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE) states that in the last week the market Sh 942.1 million was remitted to the estates and the cooperative farmers after the sale of 14,326 bags of coffee. 

In the weekly report Nyeri based Gakuyui- ini factory affiliated to the Thirikwa Farmers Cooperative Society achieved the highest price of Sh66,406 per bag of grade AA followed by the .New Gatanga ranked the second best with  Sh 66,279 per bag of grade AA.

Other factories that achieved the best prices are Gitura Sh66,334 per bag of grade AA, Ndundu Sh66,205,  and  Ruthagati Sh65,036 per bag of grade AA. 

The report indicated that coffee brokered by the Alliance Berries Limited, New KPCU and KCCE achieved the better prices.

 The report by the acting NCE CEO Symon Mburia further states that the farmers offered  752bags of grade AA that were bought  for Sh 59.6 million and 5,042 bags of grade AB  for Sh 346 million.

“In the coffee brokers performance, the report divulges that Alliance Berries offered 4,929 bags that fetched Sh335.2 million, CEBBA 727 bags for Sh48.4 million, Murang’a coffee 369 bags for Sh24.2million, New KPCU1,978 bags for  Sh132.4 million among others,” read part of the report.

 In the dealers category,  Ibero Kenya 5,187 bags, C.Dormans 2,244 bagsTaylor Winch 1,908 bags, Kenyacof 1,456 bags among others.
