The coffee market this week has earned the estates and cooperatives Sh 529.2 million after the sale of 9,578 bags of coffee.
In the sale, the coffee brokers had offered 10,099 bags for sale where 521 bags were withdrawn.
The reports from NCE reflect the weekly auction fetched more compared to the previous week of Sh307.7 million after the sale of 6,104 bags.
The 12 coffee brokers offered 927 bags of grade AA, for Sh59.7 million accounting for 10 percent , followed by 3,836 bags of grade AB for Sh217.3 million( 40 percent).
“The auction attracted 12 local and international dealers with Muisini Cooperative Society coffee brokered by New KPCU achieving the highest price of Sh 54, 147 for each of the eight bags of grade AA,” read the report by NCE Acting CEO Symon Mburia.
Kathakwa factory coffee brokered by Alliance Berries Limited fetched Sh 53,114 for each of the 12 bags of grade AA bought by C Dorman.
The report further highlighted that Alliance Berries Limited auctioned 2,258 bags that fetched Sh 128.1 million, Kirinyaga Slopes 2,285kgs ( Sh124.8 million), KCCE 1,044 bags ( Sh57.3 million), New KPCU 830 bags( Sh47 million), Murang’a 261bags Sh14.8 million), CEBBA 179 bags ( Sh11.2 million).
In the dealers category, C- Dorman bought 2,255 bags for Sh 130.7 million,Ibero Kenya 2,076 bags( Sh110.1 million), Louis Dreyfus 1,961 bags( Sh101.2 million),Kenyacof 1,741 bags( Sh98.1 million).
