Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata emphasised on the support to the farmers in efforts to achieve food security.
Kang’ata spoke in Thika to investors during the commissioning of the New Paleah Millers factory.
The factory will produce wheat flour, maize flour, and animal feeds.
He emphasized manufacturing as key to job creation and called for lower taxes and simpler regulations to attract more investors.
Murang’a farmers stand to benefit from a new agreement where New Paleah Millers will purchase maize at Ksh 3,500 per bag, part of ongoing efforts to boost agriculture and drive industrial growth.Also present were Chairperson Kenya Seed Company Ltd Wangui Ngirici, Murang’a Deputy Speaker Moses Gachui, New Paleah Chairman Patrick Njiru, and other dignitaries
