Farmers party exits Kenya Kwanza house

The Farmers Party led by Irungu Nyakera has  left the Kenya Kwanza coalition..

The party’s secretary General Simon Kamau,  issued an exit notice from the coalition after the National Executive Committee  met on Monday the April 7, and unanimously resolved to exit the Kenya Kwanza Coalition.

“While Farmers Party in good faith entered into a Coalition Agreement with like-minded parties under the Kenya Kwanza Coalition on 23rd March 2022, it is with deep regret that we note a consistent pattern of dishonesty, political infidelity, and outright disregard for both the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the spirit of our Coalition Agreement by our major our coalition partner,” read the notice.

 The party issued a 30 days notice of the intention to exit the coalition was copied to the registrar of political parties, Secretary Generals of  Ford Kenya, UDA, and the dissolved Amani National Congress.

Two weeks ago, Nyakera chairmanship at KICC was revoked by President William Ruto and replaced with  Samuel Waweru Mwangi.
