The weekly coffee market injects Sh1.6 billion

The Nairobi coffee market continued to fetch competitive prices, as the 154 buyers  bought  28,971 bags  for Sh1.6 billion.

At the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE) 12 coffee brokers led by Alliance Berries Limited and Kirinyaga Slopes produce  attracted the best prices.

In the market, the brokers delivered  8,363 bags of AA, and  AB 14,245 bags that fetched Sh 471.7 million.

 Gachatha factory based in Nyeri achieved the best price of Sh57,364 for each of the 33 bags of AA followed by Gathiga Sh55,426  for each of the 32 bags.

Kahunyo factory fetched  Sh54,522  for the 25 bags, while the Murang’a based Marumi factory Sh 52,196 for each of the 3 bags all brokered by the Alliance Berries Limited.

Kaguyu factory brokered by the Kirinyaga Slopes achieved Sh 50,646 for each of the 39 bags of coffee.

Nairobi Coffee Exchange CEO Lisper Ndung’u appealed to the farmers to continue producing the best quality that attracts the buyers.

“ It is our appeal to farmers to deliver their coffee at the auction  at a competitive price,” said Ms Ndung’u

The reports stated that  Alliance Berries delivered 4,498 bags of AA and 7,384 bags,  the highest in the market.

 While the Kirinyaga Slopes managed to present 1,131 bags of AA and 1,715 bags of AB. 

 C-Dorman led the buyers after buying 10,614 bags, followed by Ibero Kenya 6,657 bags, Taylor Winch 5,448 bags, Louis Dreyfus 2,252 bags,Sondhi Trading 1,491 bags among others.

In the coffee brokers performance, the report divulges that Alliance Berries sold 14,805 bags, Kirinyaga Slopes 3,474 bags, New KPCU 3,128 bags, KCCE 2,837 bags, Kipkelion 1,759 bags  , Kirinyaga Slopes 3,474 bags.

Other coffee  brokers’ performance was  United Eastern 417 bags, Murang’a Coffee 557bags, Minnesota 669 bags,Kinya Coffee 563 bags, CEBBL 493bags, and Kiambu 167 bags.
