Learning institutions are set to receive Sh48.8 billion from the government to facilitate free education.
The announcement by Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi following the anxiety in the education sector over the delayed capitation after the schools opened.
Mbadi, speaking in Kakamega county, urged the institution management to be patient and stop panicking over delayed disbursements.
“The education sector was not facing any crisis following the delay in the disbursement of capitation. Am assuring the schools that the National Treasury will release money to schools by next week,” said the CS who was accompanied by Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa.
