Kenya’s Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been impeached by parliament through a voting.
He becomes the first Deputy President in Kenya to be impeached by parliament after Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse moved the motion.
Two hundred and eighty one Mps supported the impeachment motion and 44 were against it.
Speaker Moses Wetangula said the majority supported the impeachment motion.
“I will proceed and inform the senate speaker on the decision of the parliament as the rule provides,” said the speaker.
