Political temperature in Mt Kenya East has accelerated with the lawmakers endorsing Interior and National Coordination Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki as their spokesman.
The MPs endorsed Interior CS, the link between the leaders from the counties of Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi and the Executive.
The lawmakers led by Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku in an Embu hotel during their parliamentary group meeting, said Mt Kenya East has come of age to chat about its politics.
“ The East will decide on its political path and initiate negotiations through Kindiki,” said Ruku.
They thanked President William Ruto for appointing three Cabinet Secretaries from the region, insisting that the appointments reflect the trust and recognition the President has placed on Mount Kenya East.
The CSs are Justin Muturi (Public Service), Prof. Kindiki (Interior), and Eng. Eric Mugaa (Water and Sanitation).
