Ex Governor Samburu gets bail

The Mountain Journal

Former Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal and his business associate Hebson Wachira have been granted Sh10 million bond pending an appeal.

They were granted bail by Judge D. Kavedza with a surity of similar amount.

The judge certified the appeal application urgent directing the matter be mentioned on October 31 before a presiding judge at Milimani Anti Corruption and Economic Crimes Division for further directions.

in the application, the former governor suffers from a repeated bout of
hypertension and there is a high risk that being confined
to jail could trigger rapid health deterioration and a life-threatening
condition named pre-eclampsia.

Wachira suffers from Type 2 Diabetes with a complication of
peripheral neuropathy and has been on treatment since the year 2023
hence his medical condition would certainly cause grave danger to his life
if in detention while the Appeal is pending hearing and determination.
