Nyakera lauds Kakuzi human rights initiative
The Mountain Journal
Kemsa Chairman Irungu Nyakera has expressed satisfaction on improved human rights awareness enhanced by Kakuzi PLC.
Nyakera spoke after he paid a courtesy call to CEO Mr Christopher Flowers noting that Kakuzi PLC is playing in value addition, aggregation and community engagement.
The Kemsa official and a resident of Murang’a, observed that the firm has a Human Rights Awareness Manager with a key mandate of engaging all employees and stakeholders.
“ The manager is also tasked to ensure that their rights are guaranteed and protected,” said Nyakera.
The deliberation also involved the need for the multi national agriculture firm to focus on becoming a Murang’a Company rather than a company in Murang’a.
“Am happy to note that Kakuzi has fully integrated smallholder farmers into their ecosystem,” said Nyakera.
