Lands and Housing Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has sent packing two lands officials at Thika Registry after they were positively identified for issuing fake documents to perfect land grabbing.
The two found themselves in a hot soup for colluding with a private developer to hive off three acres of Thika Cemetery by issuing fake documents from the Ministry of Lands and Housing.
The CS issued a stern warning to land officers working in cahoots with cartels to grab public land, saying that once caught none will be spared.
The CS suspended the duo after visiting Thika cemetery after a daring developer fenced off part of the 50 acres of land.
The land over the decades had been used for a public cemetery by Thika town residents.
“ Government records indicate that the parcel is a public land and no records show it has been transferred to an individual as alleged,” said Wahome.
