A man who last week brutally murdered his two sons was on Thursday afternoon in Mombasa.
James Gitau who looked malnourished was arrested as he was waiting for a man who knew him and promised to buy him a meal , upon claim he had gone for three days on an empty stomach.
Arrest of Gitau conceded with the burial of his children in Kiawambeu village in Kiharu.
On Tuesday night last week, Gitau, a teacher went to his mothers house in Kiawembeu village in Kiharu, Murang’a and asked for his two sons aged between five and two and half. He later murdered them before he fled.
Local administrators circulated his photographs in major towns calling on the residents to volunteer information to help in his arrest.
The suspect was detained at Kongowea Police Station as the police were working on logistics to transport him back to Murang’a for investigation and prosecution.
